Salary: £6.59 - £9.09 per hour, £10.77 - £21.94 per hour after 12 weeks.
Key Duties
As a sorter you'll be based in one of the parcel depots, sorting and preparing parcels for delivery by delivery drivers. This role is a vital part in the chain to ensure all our customers get their parcels on time. Your responsibilities will include:
- Loading and unloading trailers
- Moving van and vehicles
- Sorting parcels from conveyor belts into cages
- Moving cages
- Scanning parcel barcodes
- Working a part of the wider depot team to improve customer service
- Maintain safe lifting and handling of heavy parcels even during busy periods
- Works accurately using post codes to sort parcels into cages
- Is a team player, willing and flexible enough to help colleagues to ensure that all our customers get their parcels on time
- Is able to lift and carry parcels weighing up to 30kg
- Occasionally, during busy periods you may be required to help out the delivery drivers by undertaking driving duties, so must hold a full driving licence, with no more than 6 penalty points.
