Term time only! Chalkhill Primary School are recruiting!

Chalkhill Primary School are looking for two new members of staff to start in September:

Admin Assistant:
To work 20 hours per week Monday to Friday, term time only. You will need to be well organised and able to keep systems in place, have excellent spoken and written communication skills including an excellent telephone manner. Experience of SIMS is desirable but not essential.

Kitchen Assistant:
To work 22.5 hours per week Monday to Friday, term time only. They are looking for someone who has a friendly manner and can work as part of a team and who values the importance of the kitchen within the school.

Housing Apprentices starting September

We're helping a national housing association to find apprentices to work from their Clapham office. These roles will start in September and are not currently advertised but will be becoming live over the next few weeks.

Candidates will need to be 16 - 24 years and be interested in building a career in social housing. A knowledge of social housing through living in a housing association home will be beneficial but not essential.

Volunteer for the Chalkhill Park Celebratory event and get free training

There will be a Celebratory event in Chalkhill Park on 25th July. The team are looking for volunteers to work on the day.

You will receive free training in First Aid. To sign up attend training in Chalkhill Community Centre on Fridays at 11am - this will be continuing until the event.

Volunteer Centre Hackney recruiting

Volunteer Centre Hackney are recruiting a number of roles. These are advertised on www.charityjob.co.uk, click the job titles to go to the adverts.

Employment Adviser:
This is a part time role paying £24 - £26k pro rata funded by the Big Lottery for the next three years. You will be supporting people with mental health issues into volunteering with at least 30% of those going into employment.

Project Support Worker/ Administrator:
Paying £20 - £22k working on the main volunteering brokerage service and the new supported volunteering project Step Up.

Project Manager:
Paying £24 - £26k you will be managing the Big Lottery supported Step Up project which aims to help 180 people with mental health issues into volunteering and at least 30% of those into employment.

Weekend telephone jobs, Islington

We're working with a recruitment agency who are looking to fill telephone customer service jobs for a retail company.

You will be working Saturdays and Sundays on a temporary contract which is provisionally expected to last three months. The pay will be £8.50 and you will be making telephone marketing/ sales calls to warm customers (those who have had previous contact with the company).

Lambeth Council are currently looking for an Apprentice Communications officer.

This role is working out of borough and will involve training for an NVQ. You will be working for the communications and campaigns team.

Customer Service Assistants, South West Trains

Our partners Young London Working are currently looking for Gateline Assistants to work for South West Trains at Waterloo station. These are customer service roles involving standing on foot and being the face of the company. You will need to be highly professional during extreme weather and at times when significant cancellations and problems arise. Can you demonstrate assertiveness and a highly outgoing personality along with resilience and patience?

The salary is £16000 - £18000 along with £1900 London weighting. Benefits include free travel on South West Trains and a final salary pension.

Successful candidates’ hours will be a mixture of early, late and night shifts, including weekends. Early shifts start at 06:00, lates finish at 23:00. Night shifts are generally 22:00-06:00.

You need to live within up to an hour travel distance from London Waterloo by public transport.

Field Sales Executives, Wembley

A telecoms company supplying customers in the South East are currently recruiting for Field Sales Executives to work in Wembley. You will be working a 42 hour week between 8am and 8pm with five days out of seven on a rota which includes weekends.

The starting salary is £16k with on target earnings of £32k in the first year. (on target means with commission and bonus' you should be earning.)

Handyperson/ Appliance installer, Greenford

A not for profit organisation associated with a West London housing association is looking for a handyperson to work in Greenford.

You will be part of an organisation who collects donated furniture and recycles it to people in need providing removals, clearances and storage. This job focuses on small repairs support along with the installation of appliances and remanufacturing of furniture. You will also be collecting and delivering re-use and contract furniture.

You will need to drive and be over 25 with a clean driving license and will also need competent DIY skills and the ability to learn to use the re manufacturing machinery. The salary is around £22,000

Free IT training in Brent

New Challenge will soon be delivering a Level 3 IT Award for IT Users (beginners) in Brent.

This is a two week IT course for beginners exclusively aimed at helping JCP customers with training in the following areas:

St Mungos Broadway looking to fill Coordinator role in Brent!

St Mungos Broadway are a homeless and housing organisation which works across London. They have recently won the contract to deliver an outreach orientated response to rough sleeping in Brent and are currently looking for a Coordinator to work in their Homelessness Advice Rough-sleeping Team (HART)

You will be the lead manager for the service delivering a Street Outreach service in the borough to reduce rough sleeping on the streets to as near to zero as possible. This service will also work to reduce anti social behaviour and hotspots along with supporting clients off the streets and enabling them to reach their life goals.

For this job you will need experience of developing social care, housing, or health services and of motivating complex and diverse client groups. You will need the ability to supervise, motivate and coach a team of staff to engage effectively with clients along with networking and building effective working relationships in a multi agency environment. This role will include outreach shifts at unsocial hours.
