Write the perfect CV

Your CV is your marketing document - it shows the recruiting employer who you are and what you can do. This is your chance to stand out. Whilst you can present yourself however you wish there are certain things an employer in the UK expects to see on a CV. You'll have more success if you use a standard layout as it helps the recruiter locate the information they're looking for quickly and easily.

An employer spends less time than you imagine looking at your CV - make sure the reasons you're right for the job are instantly obvious at a quick glance. Ideally you should tailor your CV, making small changes for every job you apply for to give yourself the best possible chance at gaining an interview.

Make sure you proof read before you send and if possible get someone else to look over it. The Chalkhill Jobs Employment Support team are available every Mon and Tue between 10 and 12 - drop in and ask us for help.

Once you've finished your updated CV email it to katie.gerrard@olmec-ec.org.uk - we'll keep it on file and contact you with suitable jobs.
